Step 1: Set Up the Data Feed
To get started, Workpath will set up an S3 bucket for your organization, provided the Data Feed add-on has been ordered. The Data Feed includes:
-
Historic Data: All available historical records.
-
Non-Historic Data: Regularly updated data reflecting the latest changes.
Contact your Customer Success Manager to initiate the setup process. Once completed, you will receive the necessary access credentials to the AWS S3 bucket.
Step 2: Access Your Data
Workpath will provide you with secure credentials for accessing your data in the S3 bucket:
-
AWS Access Key ID
-
AWS Secret Access Key
These credentials will be shared securely through a password management tool. Once received, follow these steps to access your data:
-
Install and configure the AWS CLI or use an S3-compatible client.
-
Use the credentials provided to authenticate your connection.
-
Navigate to the designated bucket to access your CSV files.
Step 3: Automate or Download Data
Automate Data Integration
You can configure your BI or analytics tools to connect directly to the S3 bucket. This ensures that you always have the most up-to-date data available for analysis.
Manual Download
Alternatively, use the AWS CLI or your preferred tool to manually download the data files for local processing.
Schedule and Updates
The Data Feed is updated automatically every day at 5am CET (Berlin time). This ensures that you always have access to the latest data without needing manual intervention.
Pricing
The Data Feed add-on consists of the following components:
-
Initial, One-Time Setup Fee:
-
Includes technical setup (AWS bucket creation, data pipelines, exports) and support during the setup period.
-
-
Annual Subscription:
-
Covers daily CSV uploads, bucket health monitoring, technical support, and future updates (e.g., new entities).
-
Pricing details are available upon request from your Customer Success Manager.
Security and Best Practices
-
Keep Your Credentials Secure: Treat your AWS credentials like a password. Do not share them publicly or expose them in client-side code.
-
Review Access Regularly: Periodically review who has access to the S3 bucket.
-
Regenerate Credentials if Needed: If you suspect that your credentials have been compromised, request a new set from Workpath Support immediately.
Future Enhancements: Azure Blob Storage
In the future, Workpath plans to support Azure Blob Storage as an alternative destination. This will allow customers to use their own Azure storage accounts to access the Data Feed. Stay tuned for updates.
