Overview
Workpath supports flexible goal cycle management to help organizations plan, align, and execute across multiple time horizons. Whether you're working with annual strategies, quarterly OKRs, or nested planning cycles, the improved cycle settings and drafting interface make it easier to coordinate goals across levels and timeframes.
🧭 Nested Goal Cycles
Workpath now fully supports nested cycles. You can define and visualize multiple planning periods simultaneously, including:
- Yearly
- Half-yearly
- Quarterly
Cycles are automatically nested based on their start and end dates, allowing teams to:
- Structure top-down planning across timeframes
- Align shorter-term goals with longer-term strategic cycles
- Clearly understand where each goal fits in the broader planning cadence
✍️ Smarter Goal Drafting with Cycle Selection
When drafting a new goal, users can now select from predefined goal cycles—no need to manually input date ranges. This streamlines the drafting process while maintaining flexibility:
- ✅ Selecting a cycle automatically sets the start and end dates
- 🛠️ Custom date ranges can still be entered if needed
This makes it easier to align goals with organizational planning windows and ensures consistency across teams.
💡 Good to know: Selecting a goal cycle sets the dates during drafting, but the actual goal continues to rely on fixed start and end dates. If you later change a cycle’s dates, existing goals will not be updated automatically.
🖱️ Refined User Interface for Goal Drafting
Creating and editing goals is now more intuitive with:
- A cleaner layout
- Fewer clicks
- Greater clarity around cycle selection and date management
The drafting experience is designed to help teams focus on strategy, not admin work.
🔎 Where to Manage Goal Cycles
You can manage your organization’s goal cycles under:
Organization Settings → Goal Cycles
From there, admins can:
- Define and edit available cycles
- Ensure consistency across teams and units
- Plan long-term and short-term goals within an aligned structure
💡 Why This Matters
Flexible, nested goal cycles bring several advantages:
- 🧩 Better alignment between strategic and operational layers
- 🔄 Easier coordination of cross-functional goals
- 🧠 A more intuitive user experience for planning
- ✅ Responds to enterprise needs and feedback from customers with advanced planning requirements
This structure supports modern strategic frameworks and planning processes, similar to what enterprise teams may know from tools like Microsoft Viva Goals.
