The Jira integration connects your Jira issues directly with Workpath goals—keeping strategic OKRs and daily execution in sync without switching tools.
🔧 Activating the Integration
1. Identify Your Jira Administrator
Only the Jira administrator in your organization can complete the setup. Confirm who holds administrator rights in Jira.
2. Create an API Token in Jira
- Log in to id.atlassian.com as your Jira administrator.
- Go to Security → API tokens.
- Click Create API token, name it (e.g., “Workpath Integration”), and copy the generated token.
3. Configure the Integration in Workpath
- In Workpath, navigate to Admin Settings → Integrations → Jira.
- Enter your Jira Cloud URL, the administrator’s email, and the API token.
- Click Save to authorize the connection.
4. Verify Permissions
Ensure the Workpath service account in Jira has read access to all relevant projects and issues. Without these permissions, Workpath cannot synchronize issue data.
5. Create Your First Link
- Open any Jira issue.
- In the new Workpath panel, select a Workpath goal and click Link.
- The goal’s progress and Key Results will now appear directly in the issue view.
🔄 Synchronization & Visibility
Fields synchronized automatically (within 5 minutes):
- Issue Title
- Status
- Lists of child issues (e.g., Epics → Stories)
- Labels & Priority
Who sees linked issues?
All Workpath users with read access to the linked goal. To protect sensitive data, use private goals in Workpath to limit visibility.
