Workpath’s brand-new Excel Online integration lets you connect any Key Result to a live cell in your OneDrive or SharePoint workbook. Say goodbye to manual updates—your KRs will refresh themselves every 15 minutes based on your spreadsheet data.

⚙️ Enable the Excel Online Integration

1. Go to Organization Settings (admin only).
2. Click Integrations in the left menu.
3. Select Excel Online.
4. Toggle Enable Excel Online.
5. Click Save.

Once activated, every user will see Connect to Excel when editing a Key Result.

🔗 Link a Key Result to Excel

1. Open the Key Result editor

• Navigate to a Goal’s Key Results and click the ✏️ icon on the one you want to automate.
• Toggle Automate updating progress; then click Connect to Excel.

 

2. Configure your Excel data source

In the Select Data Source modal:

• File URL: Paste your OneDrive/SharePoint link
• Excel sheet: Choose the worksheet name
• Column: Select the column letter (e.g. “C”)
• Row: Enter the row number (e.g. “2”)
• Value to be synced preview shows the live cell’s current value

Click Save to apply.

 

3. Confirm and update

Back in the editor, you’ll see:

Progress is automatically synced from Excel

Click Update to finalize.

Once linked, the Excel icon appears under Actions, and progress bars refresh themselves without any extra clicks.

• Cadence: Every 15 minutes
• Fields updated: Only the Current progress
• Manual fields: Confidence Level, comments, and status remain user-editable

🧪 FAQs

Q: Can I map multiple cells to one KR?
Not directly—each KR links to a single cell. Use Excel formulas (SUM, AVERAGE) to aggregate before syncing.

Q: What if my file moves or is renamed?
You’ll see an error icon. Re-open Select Data Source and update the File URL.

Q: How do I revert to manual updates?
Toggle Automate updating progress off and click Update.
