Conversation Starters are one-click buttons that appear when your users open the AI Companion. Each one launches a predefined, guided workflow — so instead of facing a blank chat, users get a ready-made path through a task you've designed for them.
Note: This feature requires a Program Lead Skill Set Admin Seat.
What you can use them for
Conversation Starters let you scale the work an OKR coach or program lead would otherwise do by hand. Encode your recurring rituals once, and every team gets the same expert-led workflow without someone facilitating it live:
- Guide teams through drafting and refining high-quality OKRs to your standards.
- Standardize recurring meeting prep, such as preparing for and following up on a Quarterly Business Review.
- Help teams check their alignment before they finalize their plans.
What Conversation Starters do
- Each enabled starter shows up as a button in the Companion for your users.
- Clicking it runs the prompt you defined, kicking off a structured conversation that pulls in the relevant data from Workpath.
- Starters are organization-wide — every Companion user sees the ones you've enabled.
How to set it up
- Go to Organization Settings → AI Companion → Conversation Starters.
- Click + Add Conversation Starter.
- Give it a clear title (this becomes the button label) and write the prompt the Companion should follow.
- Toggle it to Enabled to make it available to all Companion users.
Write the conversation starter in your language. It will be automatically translate for users who have configured a different display language.
Examples
- Draft a high-quality OKR with a coach — walks a team through writing or sharpening an Objective and its Key Results, naming anti-patterns and suggesting concrete rewrites.
- Check my team's OKR alignment — validates vertical and horizontal alignment and surfaces missing links and cross-team dependencies before OKRs are finalized.
- Remind QBR Participants to Prepare — finds stale or off-track data ahead of a Quarterly Business Review and proposes the nudges to send.
- Create QBR Agenda — assembles a full agenda with talking points from live Workpath data.
- QBR Follow-up Memo — turns meeting notes into a structured memo and proposed follow-up actions.
