Section 1: Installing Workpath for MS Teams
Step 1: Navigate to the Workpath app
- Login to https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/
- Click on Teams apps > Manage apps
- Search for Workpath and click on the Workpath name to open the permissions for the app
Step 2: Allow the Workpath app
- Toggle Allowed to enable the app for your users
At this point, the app should be available for your users if you have allowed them to install 3rd party apps from the app store. Alternatively, you can install the app by default for all or a select group of users. Below are instructions for both of these scenarios.
Section 2: Allowing users to install 3rd party apps
Step 1: Navigate to Teams apps > Permission policies
Step 2: Modify Global (Org wide default policy)
Depending on which permission policy you have added and which applies to your users, you need to select the right one to modify. Here, ”Global (Org wide default policy)” is modified:
- Click on the policy you want to modify
- In the next screen, under Third-party apps, select either:
- Allow all apps
- Allow specific apps and block all others
- Block specific apps and allow all others
- If you have selected ‘Allow specific apps and block all others’, you will need to add the Workpath app
Section 3: Installing the Workpath app by default
To increase the adoption of OKRs in your organization and to make it easier for users to include OKRs into their daily work, you can install the Workpath app directly for them:
Step 1: Navigate to Teams apps > Setup policies
Step 2: Select the policy that you would like to have Workpath enabled for
- You can select the ‘Global (Org wide default policy)’ to enable it for everyone in the organization
- You can create a specific Group Policy for the OKR user group if not the whole organization is using Workpath yet. The group policy can then be assigned using Powershell comandlets. More info here: Policy Assignment in Teams
Step 3: Add the Workpath app to the installed apps and pinned apps
- To have the app installed for all users with this policy, add the Workpath app in the ‘Installed apps’ section
- To also have the Workpath app pinned by default in the sidebar on MS Teams, add the Workpath app in the Pinned apps’ section
