How the integration works
Link Jira issues to Workpath Goals in Jira Cloud
Once the Jira integration is set up for your team, you can use the section Workpath Goals directly in the view of an issue in Jira to link the issue to a Goal of your team. When you click on "Workpath Goals", you will get a list of all the Goals of your team of the current Workpath Goal Cycle. Click on "Link" next to any, and you're done! The issue and the Goal will be linked and you will be able to see that both in Jira and Workpath:
Link Jira issues to Workpath Goals in Jira Server/Data Center
β οΈ If a Jira Project has not been linked to a Workpath team then you will not be able to see the Workpath section in a Jira issue. See here.
In the Workpath add-on for Jira Server/Data Center, you have the option of linking a Jira issue with the objective in general or with one or more key results.
Once the Jira integration is set up for your team, you can use the section Workpath Goals directly in the view of an issue in Jira.
- If you want to link the issue to the whole goal then just click the link icon next to the objective.
- If you want to link the issue to specific key results then just click on the link icon next to the KRs. The goal will also get checked as linking to a key results implies that the issue is also linked to the goal.
When you open an issue that is already linked to a goal, you can clearly see if the issue contributes to the whole goal or to specific key results.
See linked Jira issues in Workpath
After you linked an issue to a team, navigate to the Goal Page in Workpath (clicking on the Goal name in Jira also works). You will see an aggregation of linked issues.
Clicking on it will give you a list of all issues and their current status (open or closed), which uses the Jira resolved state.
Permissions in the Workpath Addon for Jira Server/Data Center
In the Workpath addon for Jira Seve/Data Center, your permissions depend on your role in Workpath. Please note 2 things:
- These permissions only reflect what you are shown or can do on the Jira side.
- Only goals from Workpath teams which are linked to a Jira project are shown. When we say βany goalβ we mean any goal from the Workpath teams that are linked to that Jira project.
